About Buffalouie's
An Indiana Tradition since 1987
BuffaLouie’s was founded by Jay Lieser, an Indiana University graduate and Buffalo NY native. The store was named after Jay’s grandfather, Louie Lieser. In fact, the company logo is a caricature of Grandpa Lou smoking his ever-present cigar! With the help of Jay’s parents (Ed – known as Mr. Louie) and Trudy (known as Mrs. Louie), they brought the Buffalo Chicken Wing to Bloomington, Indiana. Using original family recipes, homemade sauces, and the finest ingredients, BuffaLouie’s became a Bloomington staple.
The current Bloomington BuffaLouie’s owners Ed & Jaimie Schwartzman have been running the restaurant since 2011 and have maintained all of the staples that make BuffaLouie’s so successful. The Schwartzman’s have carried on the legacy of BuffaLouie’s with love, pride, and joy for well over a decade, keeping BuffaLouie’s a Hoosier favorite and an Indiana Tradition.
And now, after 38 years, BuffaLouie’s has spread its wings to Carmel, Indiana, where a second location is now open! Nick Williams, an IU grad and former BuffaLouie’s employee, along with Indiana Basketball legend Yogi Ferrell have brought our world-famous wings and all of our other delicious foods from Bloomington to the Arts and Design District in Carmel, IN.
From the original Bloomington location on 17th street to the current Bloomington location at The Gables Building, and now with the second location in the heart of Carmel, Indiana – BuffaLouie’s has always been and always will be a Hoosier favorite and an Indiana Tradition.
